The short version
ListenReel has no accounts and no sign-up. Your swipes and taste preferences stay in your own browser. We use analytics to understand how the site is used, and some links to Amazon are affiliate links.
What stays on your device
Your likes, skips and the taste profile built from them are stored in your browser's local storage. They are never sent to us and never leave your device. Clearing your browser data resets them permanently — we hold no copy and cannot restore them.
Analytics
We use two analytics tools to see which audiobooks people find useful:
- Microsoft Clarity — aggregated usage and anonymised session replay, used to find broken or confusing parts of the interface.
- Google Analytics 4 — aggregated traffic statistics. To be straightforward with you: unlike our other tools, GA4 is not cookieless and does set identifiers in your browser.
We do not sell data, and we do not build advertising profiles. You can block both tools with any content blocker or by enabling “Do Not Track” features in your browser; the site works fully without them.

As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. Links to Audible and Amazon on this site are affiliate links, marked rel="sponsored". If you sign up or buy through one, Amazon may pay us a commission — at no extra cost to you, and it never changes the price you pay or which audiobooks we show you. When you follow one of those links, Amazon applies its own privacy policy and cookies, not ours.
Third-party content
Book cover images are loaded from Open Library (openlibrary.org). Your browser contacts them directly to fetch those images, so they can see your IP address as part of that request. A service worker also caches parts of the site so it loads quickly offline; that cache lives on your device.
Your rights
Because we hold no account and no personal profile about you, there is normally nothing for us to export or delete. If you believe we hold data about you, or you want analytics data associated with your visits removed, email us and we will act on it.
